Devdas Gandhi (1900-1957) was the son of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi. He was born in South Africa and later moved to India with his family. Devdas Gandhi was a journalist and an editor, working for several newspapers in India. He supported his father's nonviolent methods of protest and was involved in the Indian independence movement.
Devdas Gandhi had a strained relationship with his father, as he often felt overshadowed by Mahatma Gandhi's public image and leadership role. Despite this, he remained close to his family and continued to support the Indian National Congress party.
In later years, Devdas Gandhi served as the editor of the newspaper Hindustan Times and was also a member of the Constituent Assembly of India. He passed away in 1957 at the age of 57. He is remembered for his contributions to journalism and his support for the Indian independence movement.
